03 XR50 Mod. Info help please

OK. I just picked up a 50 yesterday. Im new to the 50 thing. What should I buy and where? Im most likely using it as a pit bike and a chase vehicle when my 8 yo. rides her go kart off road. It will see very little street ( Hopefully)

I dont know much about them. I have picked up on a thing or 2 here. Im thinking along the lines of big bar and 88 kit.

Ideas appreciated.

First thing you need is a tall bar kit to really make it rideable. Next i'd recommend stiffer suspension. Maybe a tall seat for more rider comfort if your a big guy.

You don't need an 88cc kit, but they are badass if you want some significant power over stock.

So far Im thinking stiffer front/rear springs, new sprockets/chain. These parts are gonna be right off the bat.

He said its going to see very little street, so hand brake and street tires probably arent up his alley. But a HB might be.

The list can get as extensive as you want but IMO what i listed are the minimum to make it rideable. You can upgrade to wide footpegs for more comfort, extended shift lever and brake pedal for larger adult rider feet. The list goes on forever.

Check out these sites for aftermarket quality parts:

http://www.fast50s.com/cart/customer/home.php?cat=2

http://hondaminitrail.com/XR50.html

http://www.bbrmotorsports.com/Products/Products.aspx

http://www.50stunt.com/CRF_XR_50_s/30.htm

Just to start anyways.

based on your actual use. . .I would merely suggest a big bar kit and a tall seat. Why waste the $$$ on the other mods if you're just using it as a true pit bike, and not an MX or stunt bike? BTW, have you seen this 50? If you want to spend the $$$ build it like this!!! http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...highlight=drag

if I were you I would start with the suspension.............. then move to the big bad kit............ THEN the 88cc.............. and a fmf power core exhaust.

With the rear suspension you can go two ways............ just replacing the spring, or go all out and by the complete set up. The average price ive seen for the spring will run you about $120 for a decent one. The complete set up is like $350

I saw a big bar kit on the bbr website for $99! I think it was a scratch and dent deal but still who cares, most of them are around 200. Fifty stunt makes really good products, and for good prices check out fast trail products. Do it in this order for what you need:
1 ) Big bars
2 ) Front springs
3 ) Rear Spring
4 ) Tall Seat
5 ) Big Shifter
6 ) Heavy duty tubes
Thats all you need
the 88 cc kit is unneccesary and your daughther would have a challenge riding it that way.
