Valve Chatter?

Should an 06 R6 with >2000 miles have a lotta valve chatter? having been a car mechanic ticking in an engine scares me.

^^lmao!!! if the noise happens at colds start then goes away after the first 2-3 seconds, then thats your chain (engine chain) making noise. then noise goes away after the oil pumps up after the first 3 second, my does the same thing.
there is nothing you can do to fix it. (it sounds like a ducaty 1198) lolololol

not sure what any of that sounds like, but there is a phenomenon called the Yamaha tick. Not sure what it sounds like, because I've never heard it with either of my R6's. From what I recall, its normal and theres nothing you can do about it. I don't know if its the same as your tick.

not the sprocket chain but the (engine chain) like i said it only happens at cold start for my. but it could be a different noise that you are having.

The chain should be fine, it was adjusted when I went to Motorcycles Unlimited. The bike is set up for a rider in the 140 lbs range. The bike when I had it sounded normal and didnt really mind a little bit of noise, as this was my 2nd R6.

As I said before I always take my bikes to Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited. This bike was no exception and I had it set up for my weight. The chain was adjusted then by Motorcycles Unlimited. The bike was also looked over and started ect.

I agree, as motorcycle unlimited is where I take all my bikes. Just so happens this was a bike of mine that I sold him, and the bike has been to Motorcycles Unlimited already.
