Rider Down

My friend Oli aka leafcutter on here was riding with my friend Lupe aka coronarider on here earlier today because corona just got a 2005 gsxr 600 on sunday. While making a turn into a shopping center he was smashed by a car coming out driven by a man of Asian background. The bike suffers horrible front end damage and corona is at memorial Herman as I post getting x rays and all of the proper treatment. My best wishes go out to him for a speedy recovery. Luckily there was an accident already being tended to by the local law enforcement a block away. The were able to come over and block traffic until everything was sorted. The bike was on top of corona and when leafcutter tried to help him the cops scolded him and said not to move him. Most of the damage seems to be in the collar bone area. The cops agree that it was the cars fault but corona didn't have insurance on the bike. The cops appearantly don't believe it's an issue because of how new the bike is. Best wishes.

The last time I saw a motorcycle accident, the bike fell on top of the guys legs and the guy was passed out. I tried to get the bike off of him and everyone yelled at me to leave him alone, not to move anything.

Hope your friend is ok.

Speaking as a medic, get that bike off of his legs!! Be sure to let the medic on scene know how you found the rider to aid in finding an M.O.I. (mechanism of injury). Don't remove the helmet unless the airway is compromised but , get the bike off the guy.....

I know from personal experience that trying to get a bike out of impound that has a title that is not in your name and does not currently have insurance is a very hard thing to do. They even gave me a speech about how it's harder to towe a bike than it is to towe a car. I ended up paying $350 for a one night stay at the impound. I care about my friends health first and foremost but I know these times are financially hard for most and I hope everything gets sorted out to the point where he ends up not losing any money on this. The financial burden would only add to the physical burden.

Wrecked bikes can be repaired (living proof). I'm glad to hear your friend is going to be okay. Sorry about the wreck, though. Sucks.

Get well CoronaRider, he was just posting on here the other day. And for idiots saying dont move the bike, I guess they would like a 300 degree exhaust system scorching their leg for 30 minutes while waiting for EMS to arrive?

I can understand leaving the helmet alone especially if he's breathing and not moving him if there is no eminent danger to him where he is but leaving a bike laying on him sounds totally asinine.
