So I got a phone call...

I was on my way to Louisiana when I got a phone call from a number I didn't recognize, turned out to be a state trooper. I thought they had finally tracked me down after my run on 610 (thanks again Max). Instead he said he was calling about a '99 GSXR 750 that I reported stolen last year in February. Turns out they did a sting on the guys house that I originally thought had the bike and caught him on one coming home. They pulled him over and the VIN on the frame matched up to his registration, but his story was funny. They took it to impound and checked the number on the engine and guess who was the owner of that engine, yeah me. So they suspect that all the plastics and rims and parts are all mine except the frame. I sent him a list of a bunch of items that can identify my plastics and rims, etc... I am really happy except for two problems, if it turns out that the frame is the only thing that is not mine, does that mean I have to take everything off the frame and get a big box of parts? And he also told me that i will have to pay the storage costs that are mounting at $20 a day and the process could take up to 2 months. Let me know if you guys know how the frame situation is gonna work, hopefully the judge will just give the whole thing to me.

I'm glad to see the cops actually doing thier yob!!! But it sucks that you have to pay that, it would make more since for the person who stole the bike to pay for it rather than you!! It's not like you want YOUR bike in there!!! I say protest having to pay the storage fee!!

yeah, storage costs suck, and I had no insurance when it was stolen. That bike is really nice and I am still making payments on it, that's why I am riding my blue POS bike.

Hopefully you don't have to get the box for the parts. Glad to at least see that you have your bike back.... I don't like thieves man.. I hope they throw the book at the chump that stole your bike. I feel as though all judges should make a example of people like that. Not all of us have a silver spoon in our mouths, mommy, or daddy to buy our bikes. Alot of us work hard to get our bikes... Anyway glad to see that you have your bike back bro....

The original owner is the guy that stole it, he bought a salvage frame and title and put my parts on it. If he wants the frame back then I will be glad to deliver it to the inside of his .

^^^^ True.. If that's the case then I would say that the whole bike including the frame is yours....Plus hopefully he won't be around for a while anyway. By the time he gets out bikes should be flying in the air like the motorcycle cops on the Jetsons......LOL

I say that you sue the dude that stole it for the cost of the remaining payments on the bike plus the cost of the storage fees. , it's America, where anyone can sue anyone for anything.

Take advantage of the system.
