wow, i don't see how backing bike up would warrant pulling a gun out without identifying yourself. I'd want to get outta there as quick as possible if couldn't defend myself.

Do they deserve it when it IS a law? Do they deserve it when it isnt a law but should be a law? Do they always deserve it? Wait...do they never deserve it?
Dude, in Maryland, it's illegal to record video or audio without 2-person consent IN PRIVATE with expectation of privacy. It's completely legal in public with no expectation of privacy. The Maryland PD and that rougue cop were because the video posted on Youtube exposed the cop's unprofessional conduct and wanted to get back at the guy.

I'm sure there are at least 10 incidents of cops behaving badly to 1 being recorded and posted. There are no justification for pulling a gun, pointed at a person or not, for a speeding offense. Even if the guy ran, the cop in a marked car would have gotten the license plate and picked him up later anyway. If the guy had wanted to run, he would have lane-split and kept going instead of stopping.

Maryland PD just got off a federal oversight for misconducts and excessive forces 14 months ago and looks like they didn't learn a lesson.

I think it will swing the other way around..

People will make a bad judgement call in the heat of a situation. Brandishing the gun, and his actions was a no-no, but thats not completely what gets me . What does, is that the officer had the riders house searched and seized property with a document not signed by a judge.. trying to silence, remove any additional evidence.

we know the rider is guilty, but he paid his fines. the officer on the other hand, is trying to shut him up using force, outside of his "arm of the law"..and trying to remain innocent.

MPD seems to be getting into enough trouble on thier own... this guy will probably be rewarded..

Just saw the Original video and Im not reading thru all the posts but this is my opinion....
1. He shouldnt have been speeding actin like a douche
2. The Cop would have been instantly shot by me if I saw him come out of a Unmarked Car, Gun Drawn, Sayin get off the motorcycle and no Badge Present. All of this would have happened in the first 3 or 4 seconds out of the car. No time to hesitate
3. Shouldnt be a felony, just a ticket for reckless driving. The Camera was already on when stopped, he didnt turn it on when he saw the police confront him it was already filming before

Can you positively ID someone wearing a helmet?

seriously doubt you could draw and fire before he raised his weapon and popped one off.

Yes and No. It's unknown if he knew the law, but I would assume no. Oblivious to laws doesn't help you in any case. But on the other hand who would think that type of violation would be a felony? I think they are just after the little man b/c the peace officer acted harshly.

Yes that matter of time, I do suppose that he would shoot me first but, I mean i would at least try to injure or even kill him (Of course NOT knowin he was a Cop at the time) I mean you gotta at least try, cause for that split second you seem him jump out, you dont know what he is or his planned action, you just know that he has something that could kill you in his hands. I mean he could just be a crazed driver with no intention in jackin the bike, just tryin to cold blooded kill you. If i knew instantly he was tryin to steal the bike, I would let him have it but....in that same second he could be tryin to kill you cause he's mentally ill
