I was wondering the same thing. Plain clothes and jumping out of an unmarked car with no visible badge and the gun was already drawn. As far as I'm concerned if that happened to me and I had a chance I would have drawn my own weapon and fired.

Wow, now that's some bullshit. The cops didn't give him a whole lot of time to turn it off either. Then going to his home and taking all of his computers and ? Wtf!?

Yeah the story is that by backing away from the officer it created a moment of fear for the cop...
I don't get it. The officer is lucky the rider didnt come up with a gun as well.

IMHO the rider would have been justified to have shot the officer since he had no indication the man exiting the car was a LEO. In any case it was overly aggressive to pull the weapon and sice the officer was not indentified how could the rider have known he needed to turn off the cam?

well im in agreeance with the rider i would think my chit was about to get jacked so i wouldve done the same thing. but you have to try to see it from the officers POV tho you have already made a decision in your mind. he never pointed the gun at him but he did F up by not stating he was an police officer or trooper or whatever municipality he was from. im not saying he was right but apparently the off duty saw him speeding and wheelieing from a long way away so he decided to act b4 someone was hurt which admittedly from the camera and the rider he was acting stupidly.........

No . Unless the marked cars were already there behind me, I don't give a if you SAY you're state police...you're in a hoodie and have a gun, and never showed a badge. I know I would have been a little defensive in that situation.

as the reporter stated in maryland it is against the law to audiotape visually tape an officer so once it was established the officer was an actual cop he should've turned it off much less put it on youtube or the internet...

Look at the video again and you will see the cop does not pull the gun out until the bike backs away.

that is bullshit. plain and simple.

the rider did not KNOW he was going to be recording a "private" conversation. most laws have no issues about recordings that happen in an open areas. but they may have this well covered.

on the OTHER hand, what about the trooper behind him? is there a camera rolling, and is there SOUND? if so, then I see it a moot point, and charges would either have to be filed, on that trooper, or cases dropped all together. since the other officer is in view/heard.

complete bs.

So to me it looks like I would be getting jacked tho!! He is in his plan clothes unmark car !! Turn off the sound and watch the video again and see it like that , and ask your self what does that look like to you!! I would do the same thing backing up the bike too!! It like bikes can move fast backwards!! lol BS!! And the biker dont have a gun ether, how would he show threat to the cop!!!??

Ok so he doesn't draw till after hes out of the car but with the blur out its hard to tell. With the audio we have I would have done the same thing or taken off if a car swings around me and the guy gets out like that. If there was a marked car in the area things may be different and we are judging this on an incomplete set of info anyway.

This is a classic example of the police saying whatever the f*ck they want and getting away with it. Again, cops will be cops...big surprise.
I agree!!!!!!
