4700 for an 03, not bad especially considering the mileage.

Um... No thanks.

It's an 883 Sportster.

You ever notice how when someone has an 883 Sportster for sale they always put "Harley for sale!" as the title... Whereas if they are actually selling any other model they will actually post the model name, ie "Fatboy for sale" or "TC 88 FXST"..

Most Sportster owners I have met/sold to:

1 - are looking for a bigger bike within mere months after the fact
2 - feel shafted when they realize the dealership robbed them
3 - overprice the bike when they go to sell it because they have no realistic concept of the value of the bike due to the disillusionment caused by said dealership.

The fact that the dude said he paid some outrageous sum of 13K makes laugh.

You know what kinda accessories you'd have to put on a Sporty to get it
it to 13K? You'd have to put another Sportster on it. lol.

I'm not saying that they're bad bikes.

They are good for:
1 - the vertically challenged
2 - women
3 - people who are strapped for cash

but there's no way in I'd pay $4700 for that bike when you could get an full size Evo or Twin Cam model HD for maybe only a few thou more.

And to the guy who said "it's a Harley - nuff said," forgive me but I must disagree.

Not all HDs are made the same.

Anyway.. Just my .02
