Racer's Road at night ... Holy COW!!!

So I saw a few of the youtube videos the super sport guys were posting... triple digits on the freeway...

I was soooo jealous...

and I was bored...

and I needed to go to the store anyway...

so since I live on RR I hit the ground running...

Well... I was trucking right along and I realized how bad an idea this was when I was going through my regular turns to the store... and couldn't see 10 feet ahead of me even with the brights on...

I came around a tight right hand that was blind with all the new growth on the tress and there in the middle of the road...

A FRAKIN' COW...

Just standing there looking at me... WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?

I managed to whip the bike over from a hard right turn to an upright position and did the "Push Push" they teach at the MSC ... which at 80 mph is a little different than at 10 ...

But I got around that damned cow and changed my shorts when I got home...

I'll pass on the high speed night riding around here from now on...

Johnny

why couldn't you even see 10 feet in front of you?? fog? lights?

I wish I lived by RR. But then again, if I did, I would've probably rode everyday until I hit the cow

HAMBURGERS FTW!!!

The "Route Gang" must have scared the cows out of the pastures. The cows feel it is much safer to be on the roads than in a pasture these days.

No Pics of cow... didn't have the camera... I just wanted to go to wal-mart... didn't realize it was a "new moon"... usually out here it's nice at night because the moon literally lights the way... on a full moon you can read outside... It's just that nice...

but yeah... riding out here at night requires some diligence with the throttle...

Thanks for helping me feel stupid anyway... LOL

You guys are like the drunken, monkey-Frakin brothers I never had and always wanted to beat the out of... LOL

Anybody coming this way this weekend... I'm canx-ing all plans to do homework and finish out my current truck project (making it driveable while I look for (a) a liter bike and (b) a new truck... then this old diesel is going to be enslaves to the phenomenon that is Tractor Pulls!!! (I'm going to convert it to a 2500 hp BEAST!!!)...

I'd like to do some riding, but I would rather someone else lead ... that way they get to hit any wayward cows LONG before my slow get's there... LOL

In the mean time... I'm slowing WtF Down at night around here... frakin' cows... that's just so random it's not even funny... LOL And it's not my first run in with beasties... the weekend I bought THIS SV (this is my 9th street bike and my 2nd SV) I almost hit a deer when I was merging onto 290 coming out of prairie view... that'll make you shat yourself... Holy Deer!!! LOL

I was pegging around 90 or 100 on the ramp last Fall and a deer (it was a spike at that) runs across the on ramp (which goes down instead of up if that tells you anything about P.V.) and jumps over the front end of my bike and off into the brush on the other side of the road and under the overpass I was trying get off of ... Crazy!!!

Anyway... I'm thanking my time spent at Mancuso for my MSC ( I rode for 15 years without an M endorsement, and just recently changed that ) for my being alive tonight... well, them and maybe Bevo... since he has been tying to convince me that it's all about counter steering ... and lemme tell ya what... that Push-Push maneuver is the only reason I skipped around that cow... so thanks for that guys.

J

No it doesn't ... this was a pretty major EVENT to me... so it belongs in the events section... LOL

It's not exactly a M&G but I know where my peeps are reading... and most of them go for the "meets" section .... and this was just too funny NOT to share...

Sorry if that in anyone's wheaties... be nice to me or I'll line RR with spike strips... (J/K)

If you want to... ask the Mod to move it to wherever he sees fit...

Wow... I live in sealy so not far from you if you want to ride hit me up. Also did you here about a guy named Nick who died a year or two ago when he hit a cow on the sherrifs drag strip just of of 1458 by the river bridge. I was there not pretty glad you didn't share his fate.
