Cop Car Graphics

Sheriff's New Car

Now This Is Funny

Sheriff's Car
The Kern County, California, Sheriff's Department orders plain white patrol units and has the graphics applied locally. In this case, what they ordered was not quite what they got.
This car was driven for 1 week before an officer noticed what the graphics company employee did on the passenger side of the car. The employee did this on his last day working for the graphics company before he retired.

the file type is a photoshop file type to begin with.

a normal picture would be .jpg or jpeg if i'm not mistaken

This isn't funny at all.

I had a cop beat me up and take my doughnuts before.
I cried for 3 days.

Negative, its a bitmap (default is mspaint). A photoshop would be something like a PSD. Anyone can save a picture in any format they want, jpeg, gif, bmp, whatever, that doesn't prove it is or isn't a photoshop.

you are correct for the most part. but if you take a raw generic picture with any regular camera in my limited experience, it would save as jpeg. the only way it changes to the others is by changing the file type yourself when saving onto your drive or if a program such as paint or photoshop changes during/after editing.

you are also right on the count that i could not open oit with photoshop CS4 also.

and since ms paint is also an editing software, i would say i'm not entirely wrong on the file type giving it away.

pictures like this float all over the interwebs and are copied, and converted, and so on and so on, the file type is not now, nor ever proof that an image was altered. Believe what you want, but there are ways to determine if a image is altered, and they don't have to do with the files extension.

Right, and the reason is that .jpg is a compressed file format; using that as the default file type saves space in camera storage. And it's not a raw format - some image changes occur as a result of the compression processing. A camera could just as easily use .tif, .gif, or .bmp as the native file type, but it would eat up memory in a hurry. In fact, taking a file of a different format and saving it as a .jpg will change the picture by adding compression artifacts when the file is saved - that's why it's so much smaller byte-wise. Other than animated .gif files, the extension has nothing much to do with the contents.

But with all that, I'm sure the picture is partly fake, but it's still hilarious to me.

dang dude, i'm not fighting you. easy does it. did you miss the part where i said you were right and i was wrong?

from the get go, i added if i'm not mistaken to my lil inaccurate contribution.

i did not say my observation was scientific proof, i just said that gave it away (to me at least) as picture dont typically get to that file type without being played with.

you know more about this than i do obviously so why not chill?

you are right, i am wrong.

Guys, lesson here is: Viperguy is always right, and we are wrong. he is the all-knowing one, and we have lots to learn from him.

LOL at this. From experience if it has to do with computers, radar detectors, or anything Apple, Pyro has extensive and mostly irrefutable knowledge on the issue. All the other fruits you are free to debate him on.

I didn't see where he was fighting anyone with his words.
Just kinda sounded like it had a dry factual tone.

(He is an but don't quote me on that!)
