Why? I'm simply trying to give some common sense advice. Your hubby and you will make your own decisions.

As for me, I could care less what bike you get... as long as you're completely comfortable with/on it.

THat's perfectly fine, I dunno why ya'll are getting so defense of me, I said that I agree with you guys. I don't know how riding hours work, all I can tell you is that I'm excited for my husband (is that a bad thing?) he's wanted a bike for a while now.

If it takes a couple of weeks, then so be it, if it takes a few months, FINE, if it takes until this time next year, GREAT. Why are ya'll not letting be happy for my husband?

My only quote was that "I won't be able to meet you guys for a while, because he's not going to let me on the back right away."

and that anticipation is understood. but apprehension should also enter the equation.........he's looking at a bike that's faster then 99% of the cars on the road. glad he has dirt experience, that was 10-15? yrs ago.........thats along time. sportbikes are not forgiving, have y'all priced insurance yet? ask about full coverage? there's a reason it's so high.

all we want is somebody who will become a successfull rider in the end. and to help that along, it helps to start on the right foot. start on a smaller beginner bike..........maybe an suzi SV650 since he's had experience. the triumph 675 is not a beginner bike or intermediate bike......it's full on RACE w/ headlights and turn signals.......read that post i linked it explains alot more.

walk before you run.

Then take that up with him....I dunno about that, all I've heard is that it's a good bike. I don't get into it. And of course insurance has been looked at, and money is not a problem. I understand that safety is an issue, but don'tlabel him as careless wreckless person, at least not until you meet him, or know him.

its not him, its the bikes.........they are ebil!!!

so how much is full coverage on that bike? might be lower the bikes, cuz they aren't as "popular" so they;re not wrecked or stolen as much.........but that might change w/ the 675.........lol

btw, here's somebody lookin for a house

I didn't know he was a new rider. I change my recommendation among Triumphs. If he buys new and wants Triumph, http://www.triumph.co.uk/usa/3336.aspx .

Good. It won't hurt nearly as much when he drops it. I abused my ZX-600C.

Look here I was just watching all of this didn’t want to say anything but now I am because this is getting out of hand. The guy can ride the 675 he is very capable of doing so. I know the guy and know his experience level and he will be able to do so even know it is his first street bike. I remember 4 yrs ago every one told me I couldn’t ride a 600 for my first bike and I had bought a F4I two months being into it I was bad at riding and still am. All I did before that was ride dirt bikes for about 10 yrs so it doesn’t matter how u start. I have been riding 1000 lately so it really doesn’t matter what u start out on as long as u know what you are doing. So in other words if the guy wants a 600 or the Trump them let him be and let him get one yell quit trading on there water and jump in yells own pool. All she said before is that she can’t wait to meet everyone in the moto world when they do get it since we all have the same likings.

These guys know what they're talking about. Other than a full circuit racer these guys have the best knowledge on the road and bikes. Tell your hubbie he should go through a refresher course just to ensure the safety of his beautiful wife. Last thing he wants to do is turn a trophy wife into a stay at home bugga wolf monster with half her limbs because he "already knows how to do it". A little extra knowledge never hurt anyone...and in this case might actually save your life. Hope to see yall on the road soon...not too soon tho.

That's the thing that I can't seem to get anyonr to understand. Believe me, we KNOW that we have kids, and my husband is not that guy that you will see going 120 on the freeway, and doing wheelies.
