Springfield Armory XD40 subcompact.
Even with a 3" barrel I can shoot 2" groups at 10 yards.
Recoil is very manageable and I like the added feature of the beavertail safety, esp. for a compact concealed carry.

Kimber is nice but, I have done those and the weight is a turn off. Like the HK stuff but, not the way they feel in my hand.

Jason.
You're welcome to come to the range with me anytime to try out the XD. I go once or twice a week when it's not a race weekend.

Tony,
SuzAnne bought me the Socom 16 for our anniversary a few months back, it's an excellent weapon! Even with the 16" barrell it'll shoot 1" @ 50 yards with iron sights and less than 2" at 100 yards with a 2X Aimpoint.

Glock makes good weapons. My primary problem with them is the lack of any safety at all.
I don't recall where I read it, but they have the most AD / ND of any semi auto pistol.
Maybe I'm old school, but having grown up shooting with and having served with the 1911, I've never been 100% comfortable carring ANY pistol with a round in the chamber and no safety.
