VFR whats with them??

i have always admired the look of the Honda VFRs but i rarely see any. Whats up with that? Are they Rubbish bikes or something? How do they compare to the NInjas and the gixxers?

They're a sport touring bike, not a full on super sport. They just aren't as common as other bikes out there. There's nothing wrong with them.

Ninjas and gixxers are supersports bikes. Full on track ready race replicas.

VFRs are more sport touring bikes. They have sporty performance with more comfortable seating, handlebar and footpeg locations. Better wind protection. That kinda thing.

dont know about the new 1200cc VFR but i rode a VFR800 from sydney to Bondi Beach 3 years ago and it was one of the most fun bikes i have ever ridden. Very smooth trassmission, comfortable saddle and enough hp to get away from traffic!

I had a 1998 with over 60K miles. Bike freaking does everything and with a great exhaust, it sounds like a small block. Electrical issues occassionally come up.

Loved it, great bike, just not a lot of "soul".

PS I don't know the seller, but this isn't a terrible deal. Offer less and then fix the plastics or buy em off eBay.

Im not a fan of the newer models.

to me the VFR of the 90's is the biz. I had the VF-1100R but that was an 86' (600 plus pound dinosaur, on 130 size plastic tires) a lot better than what I had..

single sided swingarm goodness, and a host of other stuff made the 90's models sexah!

good bikes, but not as popular as they used to be. nothing wrong with em. I bet its the styling. they teh sux now.

I know the chain tension is a cinch to adjust. After my last bike died I was looking at the 08 and 09 VFR's, but the FZ6 was more comfortable.

had a '00 for 60,000

just not a common bike, it;s not the fastest or the most comfy. but it was fast enough and more then comfy enough

but ricky racers want the latest and greatest, it's popular w/ the more mature crowd and die-hard riders.

98-02 were the best yrs, IMO

Define "fast".

Drag race?

Street ride?

Track?

I've seen guys on 40 hp bikes leave behind liter bikes in the Hill Country (literally).

Most long time VFR riders I have seen wouldn't have a problem keeping pace with a SS600 bike on the street (depending on the rider of course).

It's all relative.

Then I imagine you would enjoy a VFR. I agree about the later VFR750's and earlier VFR800's as being the best.

Yes, for an 800, those are the best. The prior year's VFR750 was solid as well though.
