If Mexico plays like they did in the second half of Sunday's game, they have a shot of moving past the second round...and in today's game I say 2-1 Mexico.

I've got quite a mouthful of information on this subject. But first thing is first......I hope England who have already qualified the dirty rotten bastards get absolutely destroyed against Sweeden. Then in their next round match I hope they go up 3-0 to then loose 3 goals making it 3-3 then go to penalty shoot out to the have the biggest poof in football (aka Bentmam...I mean beckham) miss his kick to put the sorry shower oh shites out the cup once again, THEY ARE ****ING SCUM!!!!

Now moving pleasantly on here are some interesting facts -
Scotland (who did not qualify, because we didn't want to) have adopted Trinidad & Tobego as our World Cup Team. Why? Because there is one player from T&T who plays his club football in Scotland for a team called St. Johnson. Now T&T are in "the SCUM'S" group so they are natuarly receiving our support but here is the astonishing part. The player from T&T is called.....no joke.....Jason SCOTLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Adidias can't keep up the supply of T&T jerseys sold in Scotland and mangos have quadrupled in sales due to the increase in T&T themed parties in bars and nighclubs over the last month!

So to recap the English are SCUM and SCOTLAND is in the World Cup!!!

PS It has also been recently discovered the SCots invented the game which will devastate the scum! And all I have to say to that is "**** em **** em all!"

BOOK CLAIMS SCOTS INVENTED FOOTBALL

By PA Sport staff

A book published in the 17th century suggests the modern game was invented in Scotland.

Vocabula was penned by an Aberdeen schoolmaster in 1633, more than 200 years before the Football Association was formed in England.

The pocket-sized book, which is written in Latin, describes players passing the ball and scoring goals.

A 1711 edition of the manuscript was stored for years at the the National Library of Scotland but is now on display at the Museum fur Volkerkunde in Hamburg, Germany, as part of a World Cup football exhibition.

The book was written by Aberdeen Grammar School teacher David Wedderburn.

He wrote: "Let's pick sides. Those who are on the outside, come over here. Kick off, so that we can begin the match...Pass it here."

Richard McBrearty, curator of the Scottish Football Museum, said: "The book is the first evidence we have come across of a passing game with goalkeepers and players passing the ball to score goals.

"The other interesting thing is that the FA was not formed until 1863.

"In the first FA rule book there is no mention of goalkeepers and the game is based more on a rugby-type structure, where players could not pass the ball forward.

"Scotland has a fantastic claim to have developed the modern game

"It is frankly an amazing discovery and one which is hard to dispute."

Professor Wulf Koepke of the Museum fur Volkerkunde, said: "The influence of this book is quite tremendous - it rewrites part of football history."

lemme enlighten yall :icon_bigg

This is Soccer!
There is documentary evidence that a a game or skill building exercise, involving kicking a ball into a small net, was used by the Chinese military during the Han Dynasty - around the 2nd and 3rd centuries BC.
Earlier evidence - of a field marked out to play a ball-kicking game has been found at Kyoto, in Japan.

Both the Greeks and ancient Romans played a soccer-type game which resembled modern soccer - although in this early version, teams could consist of up to 27 players!

It is impossible to say accurately where and when soccer started - but it is reasonable to assume that some type of ball game - from which the organised sport we know today developed - has been played somewhere on the planet for over 3000 years.

Britain is the undisputed birthplace of modern soccer/association football. Scotland and England being co-founders of the organised game.

Football - as soccer is called in Britain - was a popular sport of the masses from the 8th century onwards.

But the game at that time was a war game!

There is a story which places the first football game in the east of England - where the locals played 'football' with the severed head of a Danish Prince they had defeated in battle!

In medieval times, towns and villages played against rival towns and villages - and kicking, punching, biting and gouging were allowed.

The object of the game was to move the ball to an agreed spot which had been marked out before play commenced.

Hundreds of people took part and games could last all day.

So violent did these matches become that many attempts were made by the authorities to ban soccer.

In England, King Edward III passed laws in 1331 to try and suppress football. In Scotland, King James 1, in 1424, proclaimed in Parliament, "That na man play at the Fute-ball" (No man shall play football/soccer).

Good Queen Bess, Queen Elizabeth 1 of England, had a law passed which provided for soccer players to be " jailed for a week, and obliged to do penance in church."

But no law could stop the game in Britain.

It was too popular.

In 1815, the famous English School, Eton College, established a set of rules which other schools, colleges and Universities began to use. Later, these were standardised and a version, known as the Cambridge Rules, was adopted by most of England's Universities and Colleges in 1848.

But now, football was divided into two separate camps. Some colleges and schools preferred to follow rules drawn up by Rugby School - rules which permitted tripping, shin-kicking and carrying the ball - all forbidden by the Cambridge rules.

On 26 October 1863, eleven London clubs and schools sent their representatives to a meeting in the Freemason's Tavern to establish a single set of fundamental rules to govern the matches played amongst them.

This meeting created The Football Association.

The supporters of the Rugby School rules walked out - and On 8 December 1863, Association Football and Rugby Football finally split.

In 1869 The Football Association included in their rules a provision which forbade any handling of the ball - so establishing the foundation on which the modern game stands.
