Exclamation Changing Oil question!???

I was looking at my service manual for gsxr 600 k6. And the question was that I've been putting 3 quarts of oil when changing my oil, but in the service manual saids=

NECESSARY AMOUNT OF ENGINE OIL:
Oil change : 2.2 L (2.3/1.9 US/Imp qt)
Oil and filter change : 2.5 L (2.6/2.2 US/Imp qt)
Engine overhaul: 2.9 L (3.1/2.6US/Imp qt)

a liter haves 1.06 quarts so you convert to qt 2.3 or 2.5!
So have I been doing it wrong !?!?! lol The guy at the cyclegear told me it was 3 qt (4 years ago) and I have been doing that ever since. How much do you all use of oil.?

I start with 3 then check the window on my RR and the dip stick on my R6 and add accordingly

2.5 and fill rest by sight. Make sure the bike is level . A little off will make a world of difference.

too much oil in some case can blow seals. and rob u of hp due to windage in oil pan. on our race bikes that r gonna burn oil in a race we fill to the top of the sight glass so it does not get low during the race. but racing is different. we run 5-20 syn. lighter and a the min. in drag racing to make more power it all depends on the application....
