Riders down on 149..Sunday 04/11/10

Was cruising through the forest around 1:00 and came around a corner to see two bikes in the ditch with riders laid out.
Dust was still in the air, and didnt look like they hit anything.
Had a pretty big entourage with them running around frantically to help soo I didnt think my stopping would do any good.
I pulled off around the corner for a few minutes to warn oncoming traffic to slow down.
I know there was a trashed yellow R6 and maybe a blue gixxer.

Anyone from here?

I see cruisers crash on 149 a few times, and one time a sport bike. seems like 3090 is the place to crash lately, not 149.

Hopefully not anyone from here. It takes a lot to go out on 149.

We did see a bright bike being loaded into a truck on 149 south and a red one stopped with them.

They were with help so we didnt stop.

i was out there a little later today but saw no wreck. i did see a huge procession of sport bikes and cruisers together. i also saw quite a few cruisers with 2 dudes on them. at least it looked like 2 dudes.

i hope the wrecked guys are ok. 149 is pretty nice as a place to go down. lots of soft stuff to land on. when i went down out there all i really needed to replace was a turn signal. my bar end mirrors were even ok

all of which are "alot" to me.

You don't just run outta road or get taken by surprise by the twists on there.

Sheesh. Sorry to offend you.

Dont forget a tractor... I think that completes the list from peeps we saw/knew that went down on 3090.

Many run wide trying to keep up w others that pass them. I feel bad for those folks but when your ego gets the best of you, nothing I can do to make you ride your bike safer.

We've stopped for those groups. They usually have the 'ya there was something in the road I was trying to avoid and the bike didnt do what I told it.'......ya, um we were riding the same road and Im pretty sure you didnt out ride your bike back there. So we continue on our way.

That's part of riding the street; and actually the part I enjoy... the fact that it changes. I lose excitement making the same turns over and over, trying to improve muscle memory etc.

I have a friend who used to ride (crashed and totaled his bike) who once made the comment to me "I don't ride behind people."

Needless to say, he doesn't ride anymore and admits he is not mature enough to own a motorcycle.
