Depending on how much you weigh... just change the fork springs and go to 20wt fork oil... the drop in emulators (racetech gold emulators and the intiminators) are kind of a waste of money... that is purely an opinion, but from what I have noticed with my set up, the springs make the biggest difference and going to 20 wt oil for $25 will have a similar effect as getting emulators for $200-$300 and it's A LOT LESS WORK!!!

On the rear, there are several shock options... again, depends on your weight... I'm guessing your bike is ABS too... so you'll have to see if you clearance for a shock with a built in reservoir... if not, your choices are pretty limited... but you can change the spring on the factory shock to match your body weight.. which will make a HUGE difference. If you don't have ABS, then you can fit various shocks in there that will get better spring rates and adjustable dampening.

If you need to pick my brain at all, just PM me.. or you can always go to SVRider.Com and dig through the FAQ section... but a lot of the people on their aren't terribly friendly.... they have the "old timer" syndrome and get when people ask questions that they deem to be a "noob" question... Again... just my 2 cents... but I'm not a fan of the SVR website.

I like the SV for commuting, but I definitely am looking for a liter bike to move up to. I'll keep my 6-fiddy for my daily commuter... It's getting 40-45 mpg and is a real hoot to blast up the FM's around my county on the way to campus... especially since I finally got the suspension dialed in.

SO when are we going to have a twins ride??? Squoddy, you're better at organizing rides than I am ... would you mind taking over the "Odd Ducks and Noobs" rides??? Post one every couple weeks??? I'd ride to the north side... it'd be a nice change of pace since I live on Racer's Road...

I don't really do group rides very often. I don't have time. I commute on my bike and every once in a while a small group of friends will cruise up north a little bit.

I'll be gone the second half of May and I'm doing the scavenger hunt in June. I may put together another Livingston ride in July, but I can only manage one day a month to get away from the house and the kids without it all crumbling down.

You're more than welcome to ride up here any given weekend, though, and we can take you on some of our favorite roads - even up to 224. it's a quick jaunt without a large group.

I like my SV, don't want to sell it, but I don't really have any close friends that ride, and mountain bike racing takes most of my free time up. Getting into med school is the rest of my time. I did manage to hit up Emma long last weekend, up in Austin which is a sick dirt bike track that doubles as a really REALLY technical MTB track too.

My SV is really sad. I painted it flat black and it looks great, but it has about 20 layers of dust on it from not being ridden :(

Where's all the kawi 650's in the twin races? Almost all the ones I see are SV's, maybe its a coincidence
