MILEAGE ?

What is the average life of a motorcycle?
I've read somewhere that its only 20k-25k. But you could keep spending money on it and it would last forever right?
So how many miles are on your bike?
How many m.p.g.'s do you get?

I hope you are incorrect. I have 24k miles on my K8 Hayabusa already -- and have not even owned it for a full two-years yet. I get close to 35mpg.

If im nice to my ZX14 I get about 40 mpg............. odo reads 13899 today. I think life expectancy has a lot to do with the size of the motor as well but I could be wrong

20k-25k is very low. I guess the person didn't know how to take care of the bike or did any maintaining.

my old duck has 26k and still running strong. gets about 30-35mpg on the highway depending on my mood.

also, my old sv650 had in excess of 30k and had no smoke/no knock

my old cbr900rr had 32k and still had spec compression and no smoke/knock.

its all in how things are maintained.

i have 4927 on the odometer right now.

exactly 150miles on 4.6 gallon tank puts me at 32mpg.

way better than my 12.5 smiles per gallon car

just a 6.1L with a few mods and a heavy foot.

my brother has same exact motor, a few less mods and gets 2-3 better than i do.

i need a custom tune but waiting to do a mod to justify it it like cam/head.

lol its an engine, you just have to take care of it and it will keep running. a car can last 10k miles if you never change the oil in it or it can last 200k if you take care of it. same thing with a bike. that's why they call it maintenance.

proper maintenance = more miles = longer engine life = happy bike?
