state inspection WTF!!!

So ive had my bike inspected twice already at AJ foyt cycles where i bought it from and they refuse to put it anywhere beside the 2FOOT black plastic thing that advertises their business, well i did for the trip home anyway i took if off with some paint thinner. should have seen it before the fender eliminator that B was every bit of 15FEET J/P .

id like to get rid of this "plastic run way" on the back of my bike.

I was wondering if any1 knows any inspection places near the greenpoint/spring area that will put it else where?

idk if you can do this but i have seen plenty of peeps have the sticker on their swingarm, frame, ect.

I just took mine off.. It's under the back seat, I just tell the officer it fell off. Have been pulled over couple of times and each time they haven't really cared.

it's confirm. it's not an inspection like cars. It's more of a safety check: brakes, brake lights, low beam, high beam, signals (if you have it on, it have to work), and horn. I think that's it.

Yeah i believe motorcycle inspection is about $12 and most inspection shops will do them, and just keep it somewhere on the bike and you wont get to much shyt. They are way more concerned about you having your M license and insurance

FWIW, if you're riding through Kemah (especially after the clubs close) Those cops LOVE to pull you over for this (especially after the clubs close).
It's an excuse to see if you have anything that would warrant more action on their part. But the officer told me flat out "you will get pulled over every time I see you without your inspection sticker displayed to the rear". It's a total BS law and should be changed. No other vehicle on the road has to display the inspection sticker to the rear - they are all on the front. Even registrations have gone from the back to the front. You wanna pull me over and check for it - thats fine, but when you see I took the time to obey the law and get it inspected, leave me the $(@)@# alone! ok... rant over. That is all.

Actually.. thats not all. Quick question.... does anyone know if it is legal to put the inspection sticker on the top left corner of the license plate? There is ALMOST a perfect spot there for it that does not obscure any of the informations on the license plate. I'm betting there is a law that says I can't... but I thought someone might know.

naaa racer

my f4i never had a sticker on the bike since 05, not only did no one ever pull me over for not seeing it but when i DID get pulled over they never even asked me about it.

I think it was because they didnt wanna sound stupid for not knowing where it was? I dunno maybe cuz it was custom but thats one of the first things i toss off the bike. I usually keep it under the seat just in case but i'v never had a problem with it. I just hate how it looks /shrug if they ask it "fell off during a huge wheelie"

Piece of cake. Go to cycle gear and buy a sticker plate. It's , aluminum plate that sandwiches behind your license and has a little area that hangs down on the bottom for the sticker. They're like 5 or 6 bucks and don't look bad-and they won't get you the wrong kind of attention from the police. Got no rear fender at all on mine. CCH

The last I checked the law states "Must be near license plate". It did not state anywhere that it was to be visible. A ticket for that could be easily beaten in court but I dont put myself through stuff like that. Just put it on a hanger under the plate.
Tx Psych, that is a great idea if legal.

I was once pulled over by a DPS officer for this. Officer walked up, said he pulled me over because he could not see my inspection sticker. In a nice polite manner, I told him that I relocated it to the swingarm, he leaned over, checked it, and said, "OK, have a nice day."
