I would say most of it is for gear capacity and load capabilities, its not an american made thing APD has several BMW police bikes, and honda is the second most popular police bike. The reason most are harleys or hondas is that these manufacturers are the only ones who sell bikes that are pre wired and configured for such. Otherwise the officer has to pay to have the entire bike rewired to handle all the other stuff. Not to mention sportbike tires don't last long and most of the time all these cops do is ride in straight lines unfortunately. I've personally gotten over 12k out of a cruiser front tire and wouldve gotten similar out of the rear had i not picked up a nail.

out of town this weekend. next sounds good, though.

you gotta make the trip worth my while though.

Like, if you can't completely lose me (like you're saying you'd lose a cop) then you gotta put some $$$ where your mouth is.

and my bike's stock with no 2nd gear.

Plenty of folks rock a Busa on the track and have a good time doing so.
Trackdays arent races.

on the track, you can be dedicated to every corner. can't (or the long-lived don't) on the street.

A 600SS bike handles better sure. But on the street the busa is MUCH more powerful, more stable (typically) and handles with a sure footedness that belies it's size. One would have to ride one to believe it.

I'm game when you are. Like I said, though. We'd have to make it interesting.....

I like the busa cop. I sold him and his family some phones and he is a super nice dude. He said he would do wheelies with my coworker once he had broken his new bike in, I think he got the new one just about a month ago. LOL

The R6 is a better handling bike and the Busa is a very fast sport tourer bike.... its like comparing apples to oranges.

I have ridden with many busas on our sunday morning ride and 99% of the busas are slow on the turns, they are just not made for that kind of riding, you can scrape your pegs for sure but it doesnt mean you are going at a high speed.

If the race is at Crabb River i think the Busa will win just because there so many long straights that the 600 wont be able to compete, but on Racer Road its a complete different story, with more turns than straights, if you are a good rider, the 600 will win for sure.
