sport bikes for cops

So i've been thinkin..why havent cops adopted sport bikes like say a hayabusa for their way of transportation for the ones that are assigned bikes? if anyone is a cop on this forum that knows help me out on this one...i know its probably a comfort issue but the ones they have now couldnt chase a good rider on a sport bike anyway. My dad worked for the hpd for a good 24 yrs and I've always wondered this. this is me being bored at work.

You are probably right with the comfort issue. I think HPD it has to be at least 1300cc as well so that rules out liter sportbikes.

Possible culprits, uh...reasons:
With a sport bike a policeman would have significantly more ability to chase which would lead to higher speeds. Higher speeds = more danger. Some people get worried. "I'm sorry mam your husband died in the line of duty" could lead to law suits.
Need to carry radio, clip boards, computers, wet weather gear, lights, sirens, etc. This stuff is just easier to carry on a bigger vehicle.
All day riding comfort.

I have seen some concors and ST1300 that fit all of the above performance characteristics and still be stupidly fast.
