I came very close to bidding on the bike in the last hour, but opted out. As good as that bike has been to Brandon, I figure a 2003 model with 50 hours will need some motor service before too long if it's ridden like it's supposed to be ridden at the track. If you baby it it's got 50 more hours in it, maybe more, though. I already have one project that I don't have much time for, it seems, and the YZ would have probably have just been a place holder for that.

Great bike and a great deal. Tell the Warrens Linz said "hey!"

Will do.

It is somethng I am just going to play with then figure out what to do with. Stock bike, and I probably don't ride em like they are supposed to be ridden at the track, so I am not really concerned too much about the 50 hours. , any bike will eventually need something. It's the nature of the beast.

Thanks. After a GSS track day, I will figure out what to do with it. It may be available.

List it on SMJ. I bet you can turn $500 profit in no time. If it weren't for the 4 speed, I'd street it.

To answer a few questions,

1. I really didn't think I was going to win it, but I did, so I followed through.

2. Yes, I intended to sell it and try to make some cash out of it, (see 1 above). I already have a street legal 2006 KTM450SMR.

3. I rode it. I really liked it. Now it's getting set up for my large self, cuz I want to try out in comparison to the KTM. It might be ready for GSS if the springs come in. If so I will take both bikes.

4. Linz, if I'm on it, I can pretty much gaurantee you'll beat it! I ride a decent pace, but I am no "racer", I just do track days to relax and clear my head.

4. I was worried about the 4 speed as well, but considering it ran a 1:59 at TWS (Texas World Speedway), I don't think it will be a problem. I agree, it wouldn't be the best candidate for a street tard.

5. After GSS, it might be up for sale. I would probably sell off the wheels, brakes for the SM conversion, then put it back in dirt trim and try to sell it.

or

Sell off the dirt wheels and sell it as a turn key motard.

or

sell it as I got it with all the spares plus what I put into this week (minor stuff)

or, if I really like it...

sell the KTM!

I can think of worse problems to have. I'm not complaining.

See you all at GSS!

Staton

PS If anyone wants to make on offer on the slightly used rain tires I got with it, let me know.

The dirt wheels and tires are practically brand new, if anyone needs them, PM me and we can work out a deal.

Either way, he might be your candidate even if you just want to unload the wheels.

For those looking for 426 wheels, there is a set on CL for $500.

I don't know what other bikes they'll fit, but a quick call to Motostrano and I'm sure you can find out.
