SportBike to Cruiser (Selection Help)

Whats up!

i'm a sportbike rider trying to get on a cruiser, thought i'd post here to get some ideas...

So far ive looked at the Kawi Mean Streak, Yami Warrior, VTX and some V-stars...

My question is, i want to get on a cruiser that has some kick to it... i've heard i have to stay above 1300CC...

i have about 6k to spend...

thoughts?????

btw: i'm selling or trading my 2001 gsx-r750 for said cruiser...
Thanks.

No m109 for that cheap.....unless you find someone trying to dump one.....you could come across a older vtx1800 for that. But yes stay above the 1300cc mark and you shouldnt be to disappointed in power

I honestly don't know about cruisers but I've heard that the VTX 18 and M109R both are mean bikes - well, as mean as you can get for a cruiser.

If you're coming off of a sportbike you're going to be let down by the performance of just about ANY cruiser. If you're ready to forget about performance then just get something comfortable that looks cool.

For the money your looking at spending.....VTX over the mean streak or yami...but again stay away from the 1300....you will be disappointed with the power of it

Plus you can do a lot more as far as customizing the VTX....the aftermarket is crazy for them

the vtx1800 is a big bike, but it makes good power. (my old boss has one, and ive ridden it a few times.)

the vrod isnt too bad, and the m109r is just plain badass (and expensive)

they arent that expensive...you could pick up a nice used 06 for about 7k if you look around. new they are runnin about 13 if you can find one. I hear they are a little lean on the showroom floor lately.

The warrior, M109 and V-ROD are considered sport cruisers, (if there is such a thing) They have dual front brakes, more aggressive position and lean more towards performance than the average cruiser. If you just wanna cruise the best value for your buck is the VTX1300. IMHO the VTX1800 is too heavy.

If you want a sport cruiser pick any of the above you can find a good deal on. I say the answer is have one of each. Go to dealers and sit on some to see what fits. Good Luck
