No Dirt section, but GrandSport Speedway is a great place for a Full sized SM.

www.grandsportspeedway.com

They are a sponsor on this forum, the trackday org is Groove Union.

i go to Grange in SoCal...
http://www.grangeracetrack.com/supermoto.htm

but theres nothing here in vegas at all. but theres a chance ill be heading back to TX and wanted to know if i can continue the hobby.

either way.....i wish the sport was a bit more popular. and not in terms of the "dude-bro's" who get into it from watching it on XGames! haha.

thanks John.

ive been getting ready for a race on sunday.

the track:

2010trackmap

these guys always end up doing the track 50/50. vs in Socal the STTARS series i was running was usually 90/10.

You could probably sneek on to Katy track, but I don't know how members would respond.

Dirt, Street, Track, Dual Sport, I like em all.

I would not sneak. Just join the track. Sneaking may ruin things for everyone who likes to ride there. Some of the karters already have a problem with bikes, so it would really help if folks didnt break rules there.

There you have it. I should have said take bike out there as a member and used the word sneak. It's a small track but I've heard members running big bikes out there when the karters aren't around. I'm not a member yet but will be shortly once I get my suspension done on my KX65.

I know, you didnt mean it that way but I thought I would throw that out there just in case someone interpreted it the wrong way. heh I enjoy the track, I have a couple of klx 110s I ride and race out there and hopefully a kx65 on the way in the near future. I figure if I go out there 10 or 20 times over the year it is cheap fun.

Vaughn,

How busy is the track on Fridays? Working 4-10s I figure it is going to be my best chance on learning the track and the 65. I'm hoping to put in for the membership early next week after I go over the bike this weekend.

Jason,
It just depends on when their next race is and what time on friday you go. I would imagine friday evenings could get busy, but usually if there are a few bike riders we just trade off sessions with the karters. Earlier on friday I would think chances were better for getting a clearer track. The Karters arent a big problem and mostly cooperative. I have never had a real problem with them.
We have been getting motorcycle kart track members together on thursdays for some rides after work if that schedule ever works out. We also go out on saturdays and or sundays sometimes.

whats the problem with the bikes?

the kart track i use does 20-30min segments where they alternate karts and SM's. theyre super cool there. and mostly, dependong on the day, theyll just let you have the track to yourself if theres no karters out.

the last time i was there, the owner left early. me and the lady had been out there ALL day and he left and just said for us to lock the gate behind us! so we stayed till ilke 8pm. got our $30 worth for sure.

thats probably not gonna happen again soon as the lady doest ride anymore.

its my understanding that if GSS gets the support from locals, they will pretty much get to build THEIR OWN DIRT SECTION.......

kinda cool if you ask me.....if you come, they will build it...
