on my bike a part that looks like that holds one of the cables in place under the gas tank

and I would have to keep going until i recover that pin before I put it back together

What Blue wave 18 said is correct

I sold my 08 and the shop manual with it.
As I recall the shop manual was only $80 and something like 250 pages
Very useful
