One more thing... maybe a bike with more grunt in it. Them high pitched 600s don't do it for me. Buying a 600 for their loud sound is like somebody trying to bring their tricked out Honda CRX out to a big boy.

600s are too whiny. Louder pipes ain't gunna help you much. Whine's still there.

I got 2 lines in and gave up.

Megaphone exhausts are loud. I had one on an old ninja 600.

Must chime in and say that I hate loud exhausts, though. A performance exhaust (like the one you have) sounds great, but to be loud just for the sake of being loud is horrible, IMO. It's like the million trucks around with straight pipes. Dont they know it sounds like ?

Back on topic. I would tinker with taking it apart. It's hard to tell how it's held together from the pictures but some exhausts, it's as easy as undoing a few bolts, removing the baffles, and putting everything back together. It kinda sucks that you have a full system, now you don't really know if you can get another pipe that fits right. I will say not to leave it a straight pipe. We did that on my friends' R6 and we a cop off so bad that was living nearby that he ended up going to jail 3 times over it.

Straight pipe is bad for your valves sir.
And really loud pipes don't save you, I'm quite loud on the road, and I still have people join my lane, ride my , all the junk you say isn't your fault.
Learn how to fend for yourself, learn your bike and how to get out of sticky situations.
Its a lot more helpful than being an with a bah-tastic bike.
And it will save you some money from not up your valve train.
While RacerX can be retarded at times, his advice was quite good, even if you retardly couldn't understand it.

Noice. This thread was very entertaining.

I have nothing to add but, OP that's a sweet bike you got there. I think there is some truth to the fact that a louder exhaust will make you more noticeable. I've been on the road and heard cruisers from way back before they're even near me.
But that being your only reason for upgrading then being dependent on that, is kinda reverse train of thought.

Oh yeah, and Franco be a cool dude too.

Even though he did try to kill me on RR yesterday.

Only time I've been hit by a cage on a bike was at a freak'n stop light some idiot ran into the back of me.... loud exhaust didn't help me there.

Another hate thread in MH, go figure.

You could try to install a Y pipe on the stock exhaust and put a GYTR or M4 slip on exhaust. Although if you have a full system, that should be fairly loud.
