Videos from Saturday RR/Fayetteville ride 4-3

Had a blast out there. Thanks to the leads and sweepers for being as safe as possible. Although I probably wouldn't have minded passing a few of those SUVs up.

Dude... I take these back roads all the time. It felt like a herd of cattle out there. Couple of dudes passing me in my own lane just to slam on the brakes in front of me cause the cyclists were right there. 10 motorcycles within 50 feet of each other in blind turns, the guy behind me right up on my . And I still had the blue stripes on my new tires.
Yeah I'm whining but if one fool went down, we all would go down. Been there done that.

North side of RR was much better, lots of space, no crowding so I was finally able to open it up. cop at the SFA memorial spooked everyone and we decided not to take RR back into Houston.

Thanks, cool vids!

I know. Last time you gave me some input, I took it real serious and I've been working at it. Track day comes this summer.

could you be more specific?? I did slow in weird places cause I thought the guy in front would go faster but other than that I was just taking it easy. I barely was braking except for when we were real crowded. Time frames and advice are very much appreciated, I do take every bit of it.

I'm not fast group material by any means.
What I meant was, I ride these roads all the time, but never with 20 bikes with riders I dont know all crowded up, cyclists on the edge of the road and the guy behind me swerving in and out of my field of vision... even in the corners.

There were alot of bikes on that ride..... I get what you're saying..... I've always heard those things happen on big rides. I'm used to riding these roads solo.... or with one or two other peeps. This was my first large group ride with MH.

Sorry to up your video thread Versatile

Nice video OP!

It's always hard to ride in a big group with people you just met and don't know how they ride....

i feel a lot more relaxed riding with the fast group because all of the riders know what they are doing so there is less chance for mistakes. Also its less crowded in the front pack so you can easily adjust the distance between the bikes in front and back of you.

Rider Down Update: Just got back from visiting the first rider that went down, he is doing fine now and resting at home, they found the chunk of flesh he was missing and reattached it back in place, everything looks good and he should be back on the road in a few months.

I agree with you 100% about passing in the same lane. If someone has the to ride faster than a rider in front of them, then they should have the to get in the oncoming lane to pass. Maybe they missed that part of the pre-ride meeting when we went over that.
