Seee your point but let me say that the one u buy may be stripped then it's another 30 bux. Plus u gotta mess with a oil pan gasket etc.

If u heli coil then it will be better/stronger than new. Just sayin, but do what u want mane

oil drain plug repair kit

There may be a self tapping plug that will work

As removing the pan may not be so easy
