My vote is for an ARAI, that is the brand that fits me the best, but you have to try one and the other, I do not like AGV or Shark too big and bulky but lightweight,
Suomy is also another brand that I will consider.

I have a Shoei Motocross helmet and i love it but that was a necessity for my level of racing, it saved me quite a few times and i love that helmet for it but having just paid cash for a R6 i don't have the money to put towards a $500+ helmet like shoei and arai. I've always kinda shy'd away from HJC and KBC as they are kinda the walmarts of the helmet world but thats all i can afford right now. I've also been looking at a scorpion for about the same amount would that be a better investment into saving my skull?

ye of little knowledge, should really learn to listen to advice from experienced riders vs spouting BS from your inexperienced experiences.

I have that same helmet, and its complete garbage. Its really heavy, wind noise is terrible, the adapters on the side for the visors break very easily(it comes with two and they both broke on me), oh yea and its big.

I would say the most important one is...
Go try them on. I have and I've found that Scorpion and KBC do not fit me.
HJC fits great and the price is right. No matter how good of a deal or how bad the graphics are, I'll never buy a Scorpion or KBC because of fitment.
Swing by 2 Wheel Toyz, you wont be disappointed.

(I once had the helmet you originally posted and asked about, but I had it in the modular style and that's why I didnt respond with feedback. It had the same problems everyone else is complaining about but I always thought it was huge and noisy cause it was modular. I see I was wrong.)

No no... I wasn't implying to "buy" HJC. I was merely stating that trying them all on is your best bet. That's just what happened to fit my melon (and wallet) was HJC.

By the way, 2 Wheel Toyz also has Shoei's for a good price. PM me if you want the price that I saw last time I was there.

like everybody said, just take some time and go try them on.....i had an icon for awhile, and while i love the helmet, it was time to upgrade due to age. sharks are really nice helmets, was close to pulling the trigger on one when i got one of a deal on an AGV XR-2....i love that helmet

i have the kbc mugello and i love it. coolest looking helmet i have owned so far
it vents superbly and fits my head pretty good. my only complaint is that the strap is a bit too far to the rear for my liking. it could just be that my neck is getting fat, but i'd like to think im not wasting away that badly.
i covered my helmet with reflective orange stickers from academy. the sheet was like 3 bucks and it has saved my life a few times this winter

I forgot about my tax return money and went with a shoei on closeout (after trying the same one on at tejas motorsports) I think its a pretty comfortable helmet and i feel better knowing i have shoei quality to wrap around my head!
