1397 motor

where's a good place to look for a gen I 1397 motor for a busa?

I'm interested in swapping out my stocker for an already built one.

haven't really seen anything on psycho or the org. and don't want to mess with an ape exchange.

I definetly would NOT buy a used 1397 motor......you will never know if it has been overheated, kicked back against the starter(potentially cracking the cases etc), ran all to with questionable tuning etc..... sure better off building one....cheaper too since you already have the engine....

I know someone locally that can put it together for you VERY reasonably...ride in/ride out... You will have to get it custom mapped somewhere else though as he has no dyno. If interested, let me know.

How much power you looking to get? pistons/cams will net you 190-195 ish....good ported head is good for another 10-15hp....Say a solid 200rwhp.....210hp with big crazy cams...but...not as much fun on the street....

yeah, I figured that reliability on a used motor would be a question, but thought I could save some money.

I'd like to have an honest 200 at the wheel. my problem is I have a bent 2nd gear shift fork, so I can't really do an exchange with my damaged motor - and it would cost near as much to split the case and fix my tranny as it would to buy a new already built motor, right?
