Its a shame they are charging the driver. Think about getting fugged on on an ATV with your buddy and he dies. Then they charge you.

Yeoljb has an off road type go cart. Last w.e we got drunk an put it on the street. With someone on the back it does one of a whoolie. If he had fallen off the back and died those fuggers would charge me. Thats just messed up.

Keep it classy, Crosby! Yeah, but charging the dude driving when they were both being dumb? Really? Dude should have said he was riding on the back.

He probably never thought he would be charged. This has changed my views. Nothing can ever be an accident these days. If you drink your phucked.

Unfortunately someone lost their life at the hand of a drunk driver. Doesn't matter if ur on the beach or the freeway, you don't drive drunk! I lost my cousin 30 years ago in a bike crash. A fn drunk hit him. So, I say to you, look beyond the fact that this happened at the beach, it doesn't matter! If u r drunk, and u drive, you should b in jail. Especially if u caused a death. I'm not trying to b disrespectful, I think it is right. Someone please give me an acceptable reason to drive drunk and I'll change my point of view.

What about personal responsibility? You dont HAVE to ride with a drunk driver. Anyone who does should realize there can be consequences. Im not sure how I feel about the charge. The story is not very clear. The guy could of passed out, and fell off.

You are absolutely right. Personal responsibility. The only thing wrong with this is, they have both been drinking so there is impaired judgement. That is why there are laws against drunk driving, there should not be a choice to make. The HUGE problem I have with this is, if someone will drive drunk once or twice, even if it's just on the beach, they have probably done it before on the street and never thought twice about it (just assuming but probably yes, it has happened). I suppose I am just a little touchy on the subject since I lost someone to a drunk. And just out of coincidence the person that killed my cousin was from Crosby too!

Your judgement is biased. Imagine you and a buddy on a 4 wheeler. Yall are both drunk. Your buddy falls off and dies. Should you get the charge. I say no.

Yeah, I hear ya Bluewave ....I am biased....I won't argue with you there. But, if people would respect the laws off road as well as on road, tragedies like this would greatly be reduced. I know it's fun and yes, I am guilty years back of doing the same. Maybe I am being a little harsh on the charge. It's just a shame when something like this happens. People need to understand that driving off road while drinking is just as dangerous as being on the Katy Freeway after drinking. I'll get off my soap box, I just thought this was a bad gig that someone wouldn't be going home after having a fun weekend.....

Can't get the link from my phone but I get the jist of the story. Had some friends about 6 years ago who weren't drinking riding a 4wheeler and went inbetween a telephone pole and the support cable for the pole. The driver ducked and passenger didn't. The line caught him in the neck and killed him on the spot. Just an accident my buddy still isn't the same today cause the parents of the one killed blamed him and took him to court for killing the passenger. People always try to pass the blame I seems.
