Oh and it takes a long time because there aren't many swingarms and gas tanks laying around for my bike. There is a chance they won't have to wait long for it though. Best case 2 weeks. Worst case maybe 8 weeks.

Labor is probably $6-700.
Sounds like it's totaled

You may be able to strip the clear coat on the swing arm and recoat it but they don't make decals for the tail they just come with the tail and since the decals are messed up you have to get a new tail. You can't repaint the tank because their are decals under the clear coat that create the tank design. When you strip the clearcoat to put on a new coat the decals will come with it. To get someone to recreate the decals and paint it would probably cost the same as a new tank and I don't know anyone I would trust to do that. The rim could be coated I guess but I doubt someone can get it to look EXACTLY the same.

Dang, that sucks. How much is the bike worth? Cause that's a huge amount to pay to fix it.

It may be totaled. I may get a pure sport bike cuz I'm having a kiddo so I won't be able to disappear all day for a while. 2-3 hour rides probably so the comfort thing won't be as big a factor. I kind of like the 08 cbr 1000's in silver and maroon. The white Duc 848 is nice too. Anybody have any experience with either of these?

How do you like that bike? Seriously thinking of getting one. I need to go somewhere that will let me test drive one. I know a dealer in Austin that does that is there one in Houston?

What I really need is someone who has ridden both to let me know.

i would like to congratulate whatever lucky gets your salvage titled ape for a steal (if it does get totaled). all because of some concrete mix or plaster? i mean the bike is still very much rideable, right?

that sucks though, people should be more careful in those kinds of situations. i had a car at an apt that got wheedwacked on the front bumper. bastards...

I will definitely try to buy it back from the insurance company. It is still a perfectly ridable beast and you could still get it looking good by just replacing the tail. The rest is superficial. But if you want it like you left it, then it's totaled.

Maybe. I was thinking that the bike would look cool in all black. Black rims, swingarm, frame, and paint. Carbon fenders as well. Levers are already black.
