Question HRP Fri. 4/2 ... Anyone going?

Anyone else thinking of going to Baytown on Friday for the safe street night?

I'm still not sure about the weather, but I'm thinking about it and wondering if anyone else might be going, since I haven't seen a thread on it.

By the way, my name's Kevin. This is my first post on MH. Nice to meet you all. I hope to become a regular on the forum.

I might be, as a spectator. Running 12.5s on the SV just doesnt sound exciting.

If you have never been down the track I bet you will find it exciting.

My car ran 11 flats. To run slower than my car on a bike seems lame.

Add to that....this is my first non-liter bike in 7 years. It's SLOW!

No, never been on the track with a bike.

You have no idea the fun it is. 12.5 on your bike feels a lot better than 11.0 in your car I promise. If you do manage 12.5 on your bike on the first night I will be impressed. It also would mean there is a ton left to gain. Thats the fun.

Leather jacket, jeans, and shoes that cover the ankle. You wont be able to break 120 mph. If its an SV 650, I doubt you will break 120 anyway.

Oddly enough, the crew warned me about 120mph barrier the first time I went out there, but no one said anything when i passed it. Didn't pass it by much, as I was still getting the hang of running the bike at the track. Getting a really good launch on a short wheelbase bike is way trickier than I thought. I too had an 11 second car, ran 118mph in San Antonio regularly, and its a different ballpark for sure. I'm hoping for mid tens next time out. We'll see. Still have to get used to riding wheelies, its just not natural for me. I've got a front end strap and won't top off the gas tank this time. Hope those two changes help. I've also got the lanyard kill switch installed this time, so no worries from tech.
