So much for the Scorpio alarm/pager because that didn't stop the thieving for taking it....it never went off! U.S. Government building and no freakin outside security cameras just inside to watch the employees (LEOs). My only consolation is that I have a good insurance policy and I will be able to get another Busa if this one isn't found, it still hurts, upset would be about the mildest word to describe how I feel. I know that if she isn't recovered in the next 24 hours she's never going to be found, the bastards are probably parting her out now.

which scorpio alarm did you have? did you have the proximity sensor on it?
i had that on my bike too and was pretty confident of its ability to let me know something was going on....

sucks though... hope you get the money back from insurance.

Was that bike stolen near the OTR that I might be attending tomorrow? I have a blue K8 Hayabusa, as well. I might not go, if there is a chance the bike will be stolen in the parking-lot! Anyone know if there will be security at OTR?

My bike was stolen at OTR on the sidewalk in the front of the windows just feet from the entrance..I KNOW FOR SURE THEY HAVE A CAMERA THAT OVER LOOKS THE SIDEWALK WHERE ALL THE BIKE PARKING IS BUT if you still love your bike..I say cage it...no sense in taking a chance

Does anyone know how much money insurance companies lose in the Houston-area on an annual-basis? I am sure the amount is quite substantial.

We need a bait-bike program. You would think insurance companies would be more than happy to fund local LEOs to institute something like this -- because it would save insurance companies a lot of money in the long run!

That bait bike idea has been kicked around soooo many times.
But if it ever came down to someone setting it up, probably best not to mention it on a public forum.

I disagree. It would be a great idea to let everyone know bait-bikes existed. Thieves would think twice before stealing any bike -- if they thought for a second it could be a bait-bike.

Just my $0.02.

Insurance companies are not losing money in Houston.

Your rates are simply higher than in other areas.

The further you move from Houston, the cheaper your rates get, until you get close to San Antonio/Dallas/Austin.

Insurance companies have intense formulas for insuring people. They are doing just fine.

Even if you throw the address, names, phone numbers and tell them where the stolen bikes would be, the police WILL NOT respond.

But... from personal experience through others on this forum, if you put yourself in harms way and call the cops, then they will respond and only then(or if its theft in process.)

That's all Im saying on the matter.

Did not say they where covering something up. Just wondered why we got no answers to any of the post that was posted. I was looking for answers and I just got them. From you Dave C.
