what year? The old ZZR600s were the ZX-6E and were the KAWI 6OOss bike before the rR cam out in the late '90s. It was a heavier more sport touring bike, but still very sporty and the bike that won the '93 ama supersport competition.

It was replaced by the late '90s 6R. When the new crop of kawi 600s came out in like '02 the previous (and sportier) 6R took the ZZR600 desigantion.

What year ZZr are you talking about?

Mine's a '98 and is differen from the newer ZZrs - but it was still a FAST, comfortable bike, maybe much for a less proficient beginner rider but I did well on mine. About 100 hp, sharp steering and very stable (carbureted). I liked mine for a starter but you'll get left behind by the newer iteration.

I really like the way they look. Not quite as aggressive looking as some other sportbikes, but good looking none the less.

th ZZR is the '98-02 ZX-6r which was kawi's top race back in the late 90's and still winning races. so those of you who think it's "boring" or slow really have no clue. it was still winning races. they just changed the title and called it sport-touring........gotta luv marketing. see how well it works

we had an '01 ZX-6r, thats was our least fav. bike, uncomfy, power delivery is bad for a new rider, geometry sucks. great at high speeds not so much at low speeds.

I had a ZZR that was laid down a couple of times and never had any problems. It was a great bike, ran strong. Go -1 in the front and you'd be right along there with modern day 600s as far as acceleration. It was fast enough to smoke C5 and C6 vettes for whatever thats worth.

I had a friend of mine that has a 07 r6. and he had a zzr 6. I kept telling him the zzr is fast and that I could beat him in the 1/4 on his zzr and him on his r6. I did by a few bikes. the zzr was stock and the the r6 had a slip on. from a 60MPH roll he pulled about bikes on me till about 130-140. the ZZR is WAY more comfy than the r6. IMO its a better bike of the two as an over all package. just depends on what kind of riding you want to do. onthe streets with average riders the zzr is just as good as the other bikes on the market. On the track where you will see the difference with equal riders
