crankcase cover question!

Hey guys ,

I have a question on the crankcase cover, I am replacing my stator and I have all the spec down on the bolts that I need to torque down from service manual. but it does not say anything about gasket sealer; I am replacing it with a new one, but I don't know if it needs gasket sealer? and if it does what kind should I use?

thanks

If you have a paper gaskit you don't need sealer.

If you dont replace the gasket it will likely leak. Once compressed the gasket material bonds to the metal surfaces. Reusing it will almost guarantee your experience in replacing it down the road.
