yep we had cows on the road. funny to watch them scatter are one of our guys wheelie'd by.

and like pedro said, take it easy. these aren't noob friendly roads, not a lot of room for error. just ride at your pace and have fun.

cool ride report dude.

Craptastic. I get back from Germany late the night before that and I'll be jetlagged all to and back. Maybe I can change my flight.....

Still trying to do it. Bike needs a chain, sprockets, rear tire and a few other misc. items. I want to get it done sooner rather than later so I can shake it down well before this. Oh yeah - and I have to pay my effin taxes this week... so....

I think I'd be ready, but I'm fine with a later date too - this month is defninitely packed!

Im fine the following month... I sprung a leak on my front forks on the zook and now I have a slight hesitation that I need to check out as well. I prefer to take the zook over the Kawi at this time. If zook is not ready then Kawi makes the trip!!

Well don't decide based just on me. Like I said - I'll plan on it either way.

If it's a go, I'm still down... if this one isn't a go, I'll probably head out there myself on the Monday after this is scheduled 5/3, I'm on vacation so I'm doing it either way. No biggie if it's rescheduled...

I am 70% down for the postponed date if there's no confliction w my planned TDs.
I needed to buy front and rear tires and to change a seal on the water pump on teh Ninja650.

Just to point out... pushing the date further and further is only going to make it more uncomfortably hot, and pose the danger of heat exhaustion.

I am sure you are all planning to be a little warmish and willing to accept it, along with all the other hardships of a ride like this, but a month closer/into summer will only be worse in terms of heat.

Good luck and be safe guys/girls. I have a ride I have only done once that takes about 8-10 hours that runs through some twisties in east Texas and ends with crossing over the border to Louisiana and that ride is pretty tolling on the body.

Matt seems to know his stuff though, so I am sure you are in good hands.

I would still like to make this ride, but a push-back might be in order. I still need to find some of the extra emergency items that you suggested we carry. I might need to have my rear-tire replaced soon, as well.

If not, I will try and obtain the necessary emergency gear ASAP.
