condolence.

just outta curiousity, when a driver is obviously in the wrong in a motorcycle/automobile collision that leads to the death of the cyclist, is the driver held responsible like including the info on their record for a ridiculous insurance bill or are they just treated like regular traffic violations?

9 times out of 10, from what I have seen. It is treated as a regular traffic violation.

Haven't you heard? "I didn't see him" is the end-all be-all excuse for a motorist in any collision with a cyclist. It mysteriously absolves the motorist even though by their own admittance they are not capable of identifying other vehicles that are legally occupying the roads. Thereby (by their own admission) they are a public nuisance and a mortal hazard to innocent people. Yet they expect absolution because they're stupid.

Happened in Tyler. Main street in town 45mph......wearing full gear & even a reflective vest.

If you hit a pedestrian, there is a manhunt for you. Take out a bike & half the time you won't even get a ticket unless you're drunk.

thats scary.

returning from school this afternoon, i was on 288 trying to get on 59south

i was indicating to get on the next lane, moved closer to the lane but the SUV on that lane would not slow down so i did not go. he finally slowed down and low and behold, a truck with a trailer attachec was already beside me on my lane which i was yet to vacate. i was sandwished between the 2 of them for a few seconds so if the guy on the right did not eventually slow down, i would have been between them longer and probably taken out.

i guess the trailer towing truck did not recognize me as an entitled road user for him to get beside me while i was still in the lane.

scary.

once again RIP to a fellow soldier
