Mounting Tab on tail piece broke...

Any way to fix this. Was wondering if I could re attach the piece using fiberglass or even JB weld. Anyone got any suggestions or do I just need to buy a new tail piece.

cant take pics bike is 10 hrs away. There are two tabs that come off the front of the tail piece under the seat to bolt tail piece on. one side is cracked across the tab (which means its probably about to break also) and the other side just snapped off. I assume it happened because I take my seat off when at the drag strip to get a lil lower on the bike and my fat broke them. I will see if I can find a pic on internet to describe what im talkin bout.

??? Not Sure ???

Plastic weld... I tried it and failed but somebody/someone on here might be able to do it.
Super Glue wont hold
Just to clarify the tabs are off the tail fairing or subframe mounting tabs?

The two tabs on the front based on what you said. If the tabs are broken, about to break and you are going to replace the tail section in the future, I'd drill a couple holes in that bish and put the biggest zipties that fit through the opening for the screw. It'll hold fine.

Not sure where you are but sbfuller has my plastic welder down in clearlake currently.

Follow instructions on roughing up the area, beading properly and it will hold quite well.

My 600 did the same from not using the seat. I used epoxy to fix it.

Been thinking of picking one. What brand and model do you have or recommend?

I speak from experience...this works just fine! , wrap the zip tie around the subframe, the heck with fidgeting a big zip tie through a small hole.

epoxy didn't work for me....the tabs just kept breaking.

If you use a plastic welder, make sure your bead material is the same as the tail section. IE- ABS fairing needs ABS bead material. Not sure if something else would hold as long.

We plastic weld boxes for firetrucks at work all the time. Stuff is STRONG if done right.
