I like them.

The fact that Keith Code bought a fleet for his school says quite a bit, I think.

I rarely buy new, so it may be a few years if I ever get one.

I'd say go get one.

Staton

PS That BMW car synopsis just scared me away from one! How are the older 850's? A buddy has one and I see them pop up now and again for a reasonable amount. I know they can be expensive to refurb, I am talking about one already done. I like the idea of owning a V12 one day.

Since Cali works on them he can tell you better than I. I know they are very expensive to maintain and the 12 has its fair share of problems. It is on my short list of cars I would like to own one day also.

Never had major problems on the E36/8, E46s plural cause I had 3 and an additional 3 in the family, E28, E39, or E30 I have owned. Well ok ok one major problem, but that would have been fixed by now on the E36/8. I think it' or miss. A lot of the complaints I hear are people who NEVER do any preventative maintenance. Not saying the new cars don't have electrical problems, but the older ones I have been in intimate contact with have been dead reliable.

Back on topic...
I would love an S1000RR myself, and I barely ride anymore.

it would be a good way to move on and take advantage of really low interest. but id have to buy a new helmet, lol. i may just sell the daytona outright. i just think i'd like to ride a 1000. the bmw is priced right. i pay my car off next month, just payed the tool box off a few weeks ago. we'll see how the whole thing goes.

Its been reported that the bike first made 200 hp. They tuned it down for street riding. You know what that means? It can be tuned back to 200 hp. I would buy one if I wasnt just gonna drag it.

I have seen dyno sheets anywhere from 179 to 193 rwhp, that would be over 200 at the crank, supposidly bmw detuned it down from 220 crank hp, One guy tested 09 gixxer 1K at 162, 09 ZX10R at 164, and BMW at 193, if I remember right those numbers are purdy close I believe

I'm in love with my bike, but I would trade it in a heart beat for one.

You should definitely get one. Besides the jaw dropping performance numbers, they are an extremely exclusive bike and have a ton of character. It's one of those bikes that you will love to ride and are just happy to drink your coffee in the morning and stare at it for an hour. I know a lot of people preach that practicality and functionality are more important than character and exclusivity. Practicality and functionality are two words that should not be used in the same sentence as motorcycle. Usually sounds like,"Why would I get one of those when a Japanese bike is cheaper to own and aftermarket parts are more available?" F*** that, Crocs are functional and practical but you won't catch me wearing a pair. Visors are practical, they keep the sun off your face and your head stays much cooler than if you are wearing a baseball cap. But visors are ghey. Just buy it and let me know when you do so I can come by and drool over it. LOL.
