What would YOU do?

I'm discussing this on a different forum and wanted MH input.

Say you're at work, and you go outside to start your bike at the end of the day, run back in while it warms up, look through the window and see some guy who works at your company (not a friend, just some random co-worker) sitting on your bike.

What is your response?

Personally I like using: "Hey - since you're sitting on my bike, I'm gonna go bang your wife. You're OK with that, right?"

Well first I would have to ask the OP "why the you would do something so ****ing stupid as to start your bike and leave it running with the key in it and go back inside."

Among other reasons, you considered it in a safe location and you could see it from the window.

Hey - not something I would do - but like i said - wanted the MH take on this.

I have a low tolerance for stupidity. I wouldn't be very calm or polite to the person, unless in the case of the coworker, they were high up in the company...then I might ask if they found the bike to be comfy and wanted to take it for a spin, but that's a big MIGHT.

So you'd be cool with me just walking into your house and kicking back on the couch, or nailing your wife?

After all, everyone is different and may not know it is inappropriate....

Like IndyRC, I have a very low tolerance for stupidity. If you made it to adulthood and don't realize you should not be with other people's stuff, well....maybe its time you got educated.

I can't imagine giving up my self respect like that...
If they are high up in the company they should know better and if they don't then I will inform them of their breach of ettiquette.

In the past I have told people to get off my bike and pointed out that, as mentioned, it would be the same as if I went and sat in their car.
In every case, it's happened a few times, they were horrified at being caught and were very apologetic. As they should be.

Id start asking questions about the bike. then at least slap him across the back of the head, boss or not.

If he at all tried to move it etc I would beat their azz in self defense and the cops would have to pry me off them. My bike cant defend itself against theft so I was forced to.

Either way, their physical action of messing w my person stuff requires an additional further action from me.

Now if we're at a meet and someone I know w a bike needs to move mine etc(alarm not on) then Im fine w that. they are responsible for any damages to it but I understand sometimes we block peeps etc and arent around or busy organizing stuff.
