Morgan Jacob

For all those that remember Morgan, who went into the Air Force, he is station in Tucson, Az. and has sold his street bike and bought a race prepared R6. He had his first race this pass weekin so I went to to take some pics of it. This is how he did.

Well, Morgan did extremly well racing his Yamaha R6, 600cc, bike. He entered 3 races, Middleweight superstock amateur for 600cc, Formula amateur for 600cc and 1000cc, Middleweight superbike amatuer for 600cc. His first race MW superstock 7 laps, he had to start form the back and worked his way to second.

His second race Formula Amateur 12laps, which everyone said was the race of the day due to having alot of bikes and battles everywhere on the track, saw him getting a better grid position of 9th. Morgan got a good start and was in 5th going into the first turn behind another 600 and 3 1000cc bike. Buy lap 2 he was in 3rd with the leading 1000cc goin away. He got to second on lap 3 with the leader pulling away on the long straight, so the chase was on. He couldn't stay with the 1000cc on the straight but was slowly catching him under brakeing and in the corners. He finially made the pass for the lead on lap 8 and won by 10sec.

The 3rd race, MW superbike, saw him starting in 5th, and he got another good start and was 1st going into turn one and leading all 7 laps. Also during this race the expert 600cc bikes had started 15sec before the amateurs. Morgan ended up setting fast lap time for both classes and was at the heels of the expert class.

For those that know me, Gregg, I went there with the sole purpose of photographing him but the show he put on made me forget to shoot. Here are a couple of shots that I got.

Gregg

I remember the party at his house you guys threw him. Thanks for the update. He has a kickass family! You and his mom are two of the nicest people I have met. With backing like that no wonder he is successful at everything he does.

Thanks for the kind words. Everyone that came to the party made it quite special for Morgan. He wants to come back to Houston and race you guys if he gets the chance.

Here's a Capt. Morgan pose.
