I have a conclusion... The Kawi has ASV shorty Levers, so im losing leverage when pressing the front brakes. I somewhat do not like them. I am going to get regular levers and retry from there. I will address the rears afterwards!

rear brakes on sportbikes are a bit of a different animal. they don't really stop the bike they just assist slowing/aligning the bike while stopping with the front. As for the front, i have a zuk and it has always stopped pretty well. If i were having problems i would probably change the fluid and pads as a first plan of action because its cheap and makes a pretty big differnce.

They're not *completely* useless. I tap and sometimes use them while engine braking just for the brake light. Sucks to have a cager slam into your cause he "didn't know you were slowing down".

Sorry, back on topic.

I had an '04 ZX10......SS lines, new pads, levers......nothing helped. Gave up and sold it. Worst brakes I've EVER had on a bike......my Busa and my RC51 BOTH stopped better and with all stock stuff. FWIW

I have an 07 zx10r se and I had this same issue. I did some reading up on it on zx10.net I believe and I ended up finding out it has something to due with our calipers. I indeed up replacing my calipers with cbr1000 calipers doing fentibo ss lines and getting a brembo 19rcs master setup and now my brakes are amazing. Yes I realize this is an old thread, hope this helps.

The zx10's are notorious for poor master cylinders. I've seen people either upgrade the master or convert to zx14 setup.

I have a second gen ZX10R (06-07). The front brakes are the worst I have ever used. Searching on the ZX10R forum, there is a HUGE thread about them.

With my bike, I bought a set of CBR1000RR calipers with SS lines off of eBay for about $100. I had to use spacers when mounting the calipers (I think it was 5mm spacers) to mount properly. Same front MC. I have ZERO issues with braking now and trust them completely. This includes many trach days.

I do not know what calipers cross reference, but they may be the same on your model ZX6R?

I know it's an older thread, but any updates from your issues?
