My Kawi Brakes SUX!!

I have lost my confience on my brakes of the Kawi. Rear takes to long to slow down or it will lock on loose ground . Fronts takes loooonnnnngggg time as well. Thank goodness for engine braking. Is it me or am I just used to my zook? My 750 is instant quick and on a dime. Im pretty sure the wives Hyo will brake better once im done with it also!!

I want to hear from owners that had more than one bike. Preferably owners of Suzuki and Kawi!!

Thanks in advance!!

Johnny

being an 03 you might need to swap out the lines and flush the brakes system. Your supposed to change the brake fluid every 2 years. Put some steel braided lines and dot4 fluid you should be straight. My 01 Gixxer750 stopped with a quickness.

You need to upgrade to 07-08 ZX6R calipers. A world of a difference.

still is a good thought though. kawi brakes are pretty decent. whens the last time you bled the system or upgraded the pads to other than stock (bc they suck)

My '04 ZX10 brakes sucked.....every time was a thrill wondering when or IF it would start to slow down. The only bike I've owned that was like that........my '00 Busa stopped better.

Are you sure you aren't mistaking poor-performing brakes for suspension squat/setup?

Rear brakes on sportbikes are useless. If you're using it, you're doing it wrong. Sounds to me that your fronts just needs some attention. When, if ever, were the pads changed? When was the last time the fluid was replaced? When were they bled last?

The simplest things to do: ziptie the bar to the grip overnight. The next day, see if they've improved at all.

Pads and/or rotors glazed or worn? 636 brakes stop very well, so I'm guessing it needs some maint. I'd flush the fluid, scuff the rotors clean, and change the pads(or clean depending)

I dont know after riding my friends 07 600RR the breaks on that bike suck compared to my stock f4i breaks which IMO is pretty weak... All i have is wave rotors on my f4i the pads and lines are stock so it shouldn't be any different.

It's going to be one of the first things I upgrade on my new f4i for sure.

maybe the master cylinder is shot, There is a possibility there is a slow leak and/or a combination of all the items mentioned above.
