Minute Maid Park

Where is the best place to park a bike when going to a game? Some buddies and I are wanting to ride up to a game some time and lock all the bikes together. Any suggestions on where to park? I know there is paid parking all around the stadium but I was wondering if there were any spots better than others as far as safety goes.

I wouldn't take my bike to ANY sports venue like that. You're just asking for trouble.

I park under the free way. There are cops right there directing traffic and you park right there.

It's never a good idea to park your bike anywhere where a would-be theif knows you're going to be gone for a minimum amount of time. You park your bike, that guy knows your gonna be gone for at least 2 to 3 hrs....:eh:

Same goes for girls leaving purses in cars. Weddings, church, movies, etc. Theives no how much time they have to work with...

there is parking there for people with a hanging rear-view mirror pass. There are usually about 5 - 10 bikes parked right there at the entrance on the south side of the freeway.

I was riding around looking for parking and saw the bikes, and the cop waved me in.

The cops pretty much stay there the whole game so they can keep an eye on your bike. I feel safe parking there, and have done it about 6 times so far.

Bad idea, they're the ones breaking into cars while you're watching the game.
FWIW, I always see bikes parked on the west side of Chartres, just past Capitol, underneath 59.

The same bums you pay $10 to watch your bikes are the same guys that get paid $20 to help the thieves score bikes. Never ride to a sports event.
