Borrowed my Uncle's GS1200

Initially the plan was to just go for about an hour ride... well we kept going, and going.. 210 miles later we thoroughly enjoyed the perfect weather!

My uncle has some all terrain tires on the GS (he recently spent a week in Big Bend) and even with those rubbers, it handled surprisingly well thru the twisties of 87 between Hemphill and Burkeville. I rolled the odometer over 21,000 for him..

It was a good ride, mild traffic, perfect temp, sunny!! From Hemphill south to "C" is the best stretch of road. "D" to "E" was new to us; good road surface, mild curves.. not much sceneary though- be weary of the 55 mph speed limits. Oh and gas in LA is MORE!!

that is an awesome loop - where you stopped at 87 and 63 did you know you were right next to 1414? thats one of the best roads in that area imho - 87 through there is fantastic too - i'm definitely jealous - give a shout next time you ride that way and ill see if i can get a group together to meet up - we're a little south of jasper

My family is from Jasper, and 07CBR is from Newton, we've ridden 1414 a few times, but the last couple of times it was trashed from log trucks! I'll send a pm or something next time we go

sweet man sounds good - yeah conditions can get rough there - 74 curves in 16 miles tho - hard to beat - definitely hit us up
