3 Sisters and Back in One Day

I'm considering a day ride (a very long day ride) over to the 3 Sisters and back in one day. That's right, ride the 3 Sisters and back in Houston on the same day. According to my Garmin Mapsource software it's about 725 miles roundtrip. Of course it would be helpful to do it on a day with lots of daylight. Anyone ever done or attempted this before? Any comments appreciated. Thanks.

Almost impossible to do it within daylight. Goin 60mph and never stopping will take you almost 13 hours roundtrip. Im thinkin maybe with gas stops and food breakes and relaxin the a$$ breaks, it will take you around 15-17 Hours or so.....

If you run straight to and from on I-10, you are looking at 6-7 hours round trip to SA (running 80 or so)

The Sisters loop from Leakey is right about 120 miles. Run it like the track you are looking at 2-3 hours. Ride somewhat sane closer to 4. It normally takes us around 2 hours from SA to Leakey... that's another 4 round trip.... looking at 15 hrs or so.

You WILL be whipped after trying to ride those roads at that pace... and probably bail and get a hotel halfway back (if that).

On all my trips we have dedicated a day just to riding the Sisters and area, and it's all day from NW SA..

... may still be something to try in a couple months when the days are longer.... just for kicks...

We'll need a good attorney because odds are good someone is getting a ticket...

The ride is only feasible on a day with lots of daylight. Speaking of tickets, got my first motorcycle ticket a few weeks ago in Burton. The experience confirmed my fears about cops becoming very angry at the site of a radar detector mounted on a motorcycle.

hmmmm 661 miles from BW8/I-10 round trip. 13 hrs on Google maps which figures speed limit and less..

I can usually average 60 mph including stops more or less.. that gives me under 12 hrs total..

So when you wanna do this?

Soft is actually worse on long days... firmer is better if it's shaped right.

Maybe I'm crazy but why not actually enjoy the 3 sisters?
Ride out stay in a hotel, do a couple 250+ mile days and ride back. IMHO that's the way to do it.
