Level 1 MSRH 03/06/2010 vid--need critiques

Here are some crappy clips i got from this past saturday...I am still learning how to work this cam..it kept cutting off on my after 3 minutes or so but by the end of the day it was to late

SO far I can see alot of things i need work on..Body position is the biggest, braking points (i brake way to early/cut off throttle) and keeping the bike in the power band. This was my 5th track day but firsst on the ZX6R, so I am kinda use to not worring about powerband since my zx14 pulls at any RPM

1. Keep the revs up
2. Lead with your shoulder into the turns

+1 Will help you in the future if you get good with what gear you should be in for each corner. Also helps control the bike.. If you go wide cut throttle.. if you cut to close increase throttle. If your way out of the power band it wont help at all, but having good throttle control is paramount before doing that. Otherwise you could really get yourself into trouble.

Yea I know about the throttle control....I dont have alot of seat time in my ZX6r...I actually feel wrong when I take the RPMs above 13k...i feel like the is gonna go boom I need to get use the the high revving engine of the 600...If I would of taped over the tacho and just left the power band visible I dont think I would have ever seen the needle the way I was pu$$yfooting the engine

I wish you would have had the whole video taped from the first view. From what I saw in the first view is you need to get off the bike. Keep your spine inline with the bike but get your off the seat. It may feel like you are getting off the bike but you really aren't. Imagine you still had your mirrors on and try and kiss your mirror. I don't have alot of track experience but this is what I was told by guys much much faster than I.

I put this video together last year for Andrew, after instructing him in level 1. It's a annotated showing reference marks for braking and turn in at different points on the track. Thought it might be helpful for you too.

U really shouldnt be lookin at ur gauges.. Sounds like you need to ride it some more so you can tell where redline is without looking.. Makes you a better rider too when u know when its time to shift by ear.
