Need input )02 R6 or 07 GSxr 600?

I am buying a used bike and I have come down to 2 bikes. I found a 07 GSXR 600 for 4500 it has 2750 mile, but the owner droped the bike and the back side fairing is broken and there is a small paint chip on the tank. The owner want 4500 for the bike. The other choice is an 02 R6 with 10000 miles and it has a clean title the owner has never got it in his name, but he has the Title. He want 3000 for the bike. So I ask you guys for your input on these 2 bikes. This is going to be my first street bike. Any info on these 2 bikes would be greatley apprecaited. Thanks

i am partial to motorcycles. I ride a R6 presently and it sounds like the R6 is a bit pricey for a 02 w/10k, IMO. The gixxer sounds pricey too unless I am picturing much worse than you describe. I got an 07 R6 last summer for 5500...I would keep looking honestly dude!

GSXR600 for $4500. I'd offer $4,000 though.

If there is no significant damage on the GSXR, aside from what you described and everything is legitimate with regards to ownership, I would recommend going this route instead of the yammy.

The R6 seems to be an OK deal, nothing great. Good luck in your decision.

BTW, I ride an R6

my vote would be the 07 even if it was a cbr zx6 or an r6. Luckily it's a gsxr so it's a win win.

The GSXR Title is clean and I have pics if anyone wants to see it. I am favoring the GSXr but I want the owner tomeet me at Aj Foyt Cycles on 45 to have the bike looked over. The GSXR will cost me more but from a riding point of view anyone have any complaints about either bike?

Thats a 5 yr gap bro! I dont know why you would even consider the other bike unless you didnt have all funds or you were going to struggle getting the gsxr.

gsxr sounds like a better deal. I bought my 04 r6 with plenty of mods, only 9.8K on the clock for 3400.

All depends on how cash strapped you're gonna be after paying taxes, buying gear, service, MSF for your license (if you haven't). Take that into aco**** as well.

The 02 r6 is also carbed which will require a bit more maintence imo.

02 R6 by a mile.......

Here's why

Newer bikes are race bikes that can Kinda go on the street. The R6 was a Street bike that could be made to go racing. Its built tougher. The parts are cheaper. It actually has some power under 10,000 RPM's. It rides like an
R1. Without a doubt one of the best 600's ever. Yes carbs suck to clean. Run premium unleaded & you'll be out a few hundred bucks every 5 years.

I'm probably the only one, but I HATE the new gen GSXR 6's. You have to hit 4k rpm just to leave a red light. It feels like you're riding a blender. The airbox noise is deafening. Even if you spend the money on an exhaust, you can't hear it over the airbox noise. They've hit a wall in HP, so to make it faster they had to take out weight. That means less metal & more fragile. I've probably sent a hundred gsxr rims to get straightened just from hitting road bumps. Cleaning carbs sucks, but wait till you get some water in your fuel injection. Ethanol sucks .

New tech is better, but its not night & day. Buy the R6 & do some upgrades with the exta cash. You'll end up with a much better bike.

Ride both bikes, or atleast sit on both bikes.
See which you feel better on.
Its your choice, you have to ride it everyday not these people who may be biase.
Choose the one you feel most comfortable on and like.
