Geico totaled the bike and I have questions.

I just spoke to the geico adjuster and bike is totaled. Here are the numbas

Bike value $8,042.13

deductible $1,000.00

So they would cut a check for $7,042.13

I want to keep the bike, and they gave me the value of $2,200.00

But I need permission by the lien holder to do so, she said most of the time they agree.

So in that case the check would be $4,842.13

Now, how this all works? Who gets the check? me or the lien holder? both?

SF wrote me a check and trusted I would pay the bank. I got one. I have heard that not all comps. will hand the owed amount over to you. The insurance comp. for the most part dont care if you pay the balance or not. Your the policy holder after all.

Usually you get a check from Insurance in both the Lien Holder and Your name. You sign it and send it to the lien holder, they deposit it and send any remaining balance left to you directly.

Here you go. Not sure of the prices though. 69 Buells still in Texas, which isn't far off the last time I checked a month ago. I bet they are cheaper.

No but I'm sure it is well below the original $12,499 MSRP.
