Man killed in ATV wreck after leaving bar
By DALE LEZON Copyright 2010 Houston Chronicle
March 8, 2010, 1:56PMShare Print Share Del.icio.usDiggTwitterYahoo! BuzzFacebookStumbleUponA man was killed when he crashed while riding an all-terrain vehicle after leaving a bar early Sunday morning.

The fatal crash occurred in the 11600 block of Homestead about 1:20 a.m., police said.

The 39-year-old man, whose name has not been released, had head injuries and was rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators said that the man was driving a Yamaha Kodiak ATV on the sidewalk when he lost control, flipped over and hit a metal sign pole.

He and his friends, who were also riding ATVs, had been at a bar a short time before the crash.

Yes you can. In San Leon the drunks remove the mower decks from riding lawn mowers and drive in the grass on the side of the road. I dont know if it sticks in court, but I have seen them get operating under the influence charges.

I have some friends that were doing some bar hopping, on bicycles. One of them had a bit of a wobble and HPD pulled in behind him but never pulled him over. I guess it was his lucky day.

Sucks guy died. Saturday we ate at Joes Crab Shack on the seawall. This waiter saw us on bikes, and statred a conversation. He started off all good by saying "I ride bikes" then went down from there. Didnt sound experienced but he was bragging on how drunk he was ridin his bike. The he proceeded to say he was driving straight and jus fell asleep (passed out) on the way home.He wrecked. He was lifeflighted, died once he said, broke his neck and a list of other injuries. Not once did he say he shouldnt of been drinkin, jus he couldnt wait to get another bike.
